Walter Dusseldorp, MBA EMT-P – Immediate Past President – Chairman of Board

Born and raised in Holland before immigrating to United States in 1988, Walter has been involved in EMS since 1989. He started as a volunteer in Hancock, NY as an EMT and EMT-CC, eventually obtaining his paramedic certification at Hudson Valley Community College in 1993. He has held positions in all levels of EMS including Transport Medic, 911 Medic, Supervisor, Coordinator, Lieutenant, Flight Medic and Manager. Walter has enjoyed employment at Decker Ambulance, Hudson Valley Ambulance, Scarsdale Ambulance, Rockland Paramedic Services and LifeNet of New York. His personal mission in life is do better each day, do things for the right reasons and assist others with obtaining their goals and aspirations.Today, Walter continues to work full time at night as a Paramedic for Rockland Paramedic Services and has been working full time for the past eight years at Nyack Hospital running their Facilities Department. This includes programs such as Trauma, Stroke, EMS, Emergency Preparedness, Regulatory Affairs, Environment of Care, Life Safety and Emergency Management. Walter is currently an Associate Executive Director at North Bronx Health Network which includes Jacobi Medical Center and North Central Bronx Hospital responsible for Patient Care Services and Medicine Service Line. His passion for operational excellence, process improvement and providing customers the best possible experience ever, further proves his dedication to the profession as a whole.As the current Chairman of the Board at HVPA, he hopes to assist with leading the Hudson Valley Paramedic Association to a Nationwide recognized Association for Professionalism, Service Excellence and Education.
